Corte Real

A royal court!

Made with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Tempranillo and aged 24-month in American and French oaks and a later rest in bottle.

Ruby-red coloured wine with evolution rims and a medium-high intensity.

This wine opens quickly, offering special notes and the presence of a wood taste, which is tinged by the remains of fruitness and alcohol. It is complex, due to its good harmony and scent abundance. In mouth, a good entry and a great expressiveness can be noticed. With a moderate acidity and a suitable structure with warm and soft tannins, it presents a pronounced meatiness after spending ten minutes in the glass. Its aftertaste has some toasted sugar nuances.

Alcohol: 13.5% Vol.

Conservation: It is recommended to keep the bottle lying down in a dark place, vibration and stable temperature between 15-20 ° C.

“Wine of the country” from Extremadura

This wine is under a VT or “wine of the country” qualification. It belongs to a region with special growing environmental and characteristics that give these wine a unique character. In Spain there are 46 geographical areas under this qualification, usually , along with high quality wines.

In this particular winery the Tempranillo, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grape varieties ripe in a clayey soil in a controlled sunshine thanks to an adequate pruning with low rainfall seldom exceeding the 400-500 ml per year.

The vines grow in shallow and low fertile soils so as to diminish the production, whereas the quality of the grapes is improved though. They are not watered at any time of the year to prevent the decrease in tannins, a basic element for an excellent ageing.

No herbicides or chemical fertilizers are used.

VT EXTREMADURA

The pruning of the vines during winter and summer is thoroughly performed, with an extreme care. After the grape sprout and before the before the envero, some fruits are removed from the vine so as to enhance the quality of the bunches remaining in the plant.

These tasks decrease the vineyards’ yield and keep the accurate amount of production in order to obtain grapes with the best alcohol volume, acidity and tannic structure needed for our subsequent wine ageing and production.
